The adventure of getting lost. Based on one of my favorite pastimes whether in a my home town, a new country, or a forest. You never know what you’ll stumble upon, the people you’ll meet, or the trouble you’ll get into.

Another one inspired by the work of Archibald Motley and his ability to capture American scenes with vivid narratives for characters of diverse racial background and social classes. This one depicting country club life in a still, hot summer day.

Reflecting on the division between pedestrian and stardom and how some are treated as works of art to be admired at a distance rather than admired through substance or craft
Great food, great company, great friends….I miss them all right now
This piece was done in response to the influx of immigrants we had been seeing making the long journey to North American from Central and South Americas and Trump’s ridiculous claim that they propose a threat our safety and well being. They are often leaving families behind or attempting to reunite with family members in hopes of opportunity and a better quality of life. Adults and children as young as ten making the trips alone and without provisions. They form relationships en route, they help one another, look out for one another, and get help along the way by gracious individuals and organizations. They are hopefully, braving a tough road to secure a better future for themselves and their families.
From a series of images I’ve been working on depicting American scenes that focus on characters from diverse racial backgrounds and social classes. This one was inspired from my one of my favorite hangouts growing up, Antonio’s Nut House on California Ave. A phenomenally no frills spot that landed right in the middle of Silicon Valley but managed to not lose it’s grit or flavor while the rest of the area got a makeover and shine.
A tribute to a horrible movie that I have a great big soft spot for, The Outsiders. The greasers verse the soc’s, pony boy, and Matt Dillon at his prime. It never got the credit it deserved and it didn’t deserve the credit it got.
A ramped up version of one of my favorite concerts to date. Granted it was a rap concert rather than blues and there were about thirty people there rather than hundred’s but the vibe was the same. We were standing in line outside a bar for an hour before he showed. Once The Grouch got there he told us to follow him to the back of the bar where there was an area cleared out for us. He stood under a light and we all filled in around him. It was one of the most fun, intimate, and exhilarating concerts I’ve been to. Still thinking about it twenty years later.

Inspired by the work of one of my favorite artist’s Archibald Motley and his ability to capture American scenes with vivid narratives for characters of diverse racial background and social classes. This one for me stemmed from my time served in south philly with the small intimate streets and thriving energy of it’s street life.
Being born and raised in Northern California I wasn’t exposed to the boardwalk culture, their appeal, history, or the definitive styles and personalities you’ll find there until much later in life. California beach life is an entirely different beast. This one was inspired by a trip I made to Atlantic City with Tom and Rose, the reopening of many beaches this last memorial day weekend, and our forever altered reality.
Again, from my favorite pastime, walking and hiking with my pups and partner (whom didn’t make the cut in this version but she is with me every step of the way even when she doesn’t want to). I love you, darlin’!
Inspired by last years trip to Scotland. One of our best excursions together to date. We made no plans beyond the first two nights in Edinburgh. We then rented a car and just drove. Stopped in small towns when we got hungry, took advantage of the free camping laws when we got tired, met some warm and welcoming people who gave some great advice as to where to go next, and took in the amazing scenery along the way. I’m still amazed at how well we travel together. We had a wonderful ten days of unexpected warm and sunny weather. Unheard of in those parts. This image was inspired by a packed park in Edinburgh. Everyone was out basking and drinking in the sun.
